Truth Brings Freedom

Lies can only remain where there is an absence of truth.
Jesus said, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)
I was bound because I believed lies.
Freedom didn’t come because I tried harder. It came because I sat with the Lord until the Holy Spirit began revealing truth. As truth came, the lies began to lose their power.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth.
He shines His light into places we cannot see on our own. He exposes what deception has hidden and reveals what God has always said.
I don’t know if someone fully understands this until they experience it for themselves, but I’m sitting in freedom today because I kept bringing myself before the Lord.
I showed up.
I opened His Word.
I waited in His presence.
I invited the Holy Spirit to search my heart and reveal truth.
I couldn’t renew my own mind, but I could surrender it to the One who could.
Little by little, truth replaced the lies I had believed.
Fear lost its grip.
Shame lost its voice.
The things that once kept me bound no longer had authority because truth had taken their place.
There is something powerful about making time for the Lord.
As we sit before Him, His light exposes darkness, His truth replaces deception, and His presence transforms us from the inside out.
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
